Artist Statement:

My practice is inspired by emotion, nature, human form, body language and movement. My work focuses on the interconnectedness between the human experience and the natural world - drawing attention to a deep sense of belonging, and exploring the notion of ‘home’. I am interested in thinking about the connection between the physicality, emotionality, and cycles of the human body, and forms and expressions found in the natural world. I like to make work that reflects the ethereal space that encompasses both.

Much of my recent work explores love and grief, and the lineage between what is here and what has been. I enjoy thinking about timelessness and about how that which is timeless travels through time. I am curious about the ways in which subconscious experience can be expressed through movement and mark-making, and I find it interesting to think about these expressions as points on a map of the space in which love and grief exist.

The process of my art making often feels like softening what is rigid, finding flow in the undercurrent below the choppiness of fragmented thoughts, and finding space in the process.
